Ensign College is founded, supported, and guided by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (Church of Jesus Christ), and exists to provide an education in an atmosphere consistent with the ideals and principles of the Church of Jesus Christ.
Pursuant to the Church Educational System Nondiscrimination Policy , Ensign College does not unlawfully discriminate in admissions on the basis of race, color, national or ethnic origin, sex, religion, age, disability, or any other basis protected by applicable law. Applicants who meet the admission requirements and agree to abide by the Church Educational System Honor Code and the Church Educational System Dress and Grooming Principles and Expectations are eligible for consideration to be admitted. Applicants are admitted based on a holistic review of their qualifications and college capacity. Notwithstanding the above, as an educational institution sponsored by and affiliated with The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints ("Church of Jesus Christ"), Ensign College lawfully gives strong preference to qualified, faithful members of the Church of Jesus Christ in admissions decisions.

Admission Application Instructions
Admission application instructions are published on the Admissions website . To be considered for admission, applicants must follow the current application instructions.
Admission Deadlines
All application materials must be submitted on or before the deadline for the block or semester for which the applicant intends to apply. Deadlines are reviewed and published on the admissions dates and deadlines website .
Honor Code Standing
Applicants must have a current ecclesiastical endorsement to be admitted to Ensign College and must commit to abide by the Church Educational System Honor Code and the Church Educational System Dress and Grooming Principles and Expectations after admission, whether on or off campus. An applicant whose Church membership is withdrawn, who has formal Church membership restrictions, or who has resigned membership in the Church is not admissible until restrictions are removed and/or the individual is readmitted to the Church. Incarcerated students through Ensign’s prison education program may have different requirements.
High School Graduation
Admission to Ensign College requires a high school diploma or recognized equivalent. Applicants who seek enrollment and do not have a diploma or equivalent must be beyond the age of compulsory school attendance for the state of Utah, which is 18. Ensign College considers homeschooled students to be beyond the age of compulsory school attendance if the state of Utah would not consider the student truant once they have completed homeschooling. The college relies on a homeschooled student’s self-certification that he or she completed secondary school in a homeschooled setting.
International Academic Work
Applicants who complete secondary schooling or college in a non-U.S. accredited program must pay for and submit a foreign credential evaluation as part of the admission application. Approved credential evaluation agencies are listed on the Admissions website .
English Proficiency
As part of the admission process, applicants whose primary language is not English will be required to demonstrate evidence of competency in English through an approved English proficiency exam. Approved exams and score requirements are listed on the Admissions website .
Admission to Degree Programs
If an applicant has already earned an Associate of Science (AS) in the U.S., the applicant can only be in a certificate, Associate of Applied Science (AAS), or Bachelor of Applied Science (BAS) program and may not enroll to earn a second AS degree. If an applicant has been awarded an Associate of Science degree outside of the U.S., the applicant will still be eligible to apply for any one of Ensign College's Associate of Science degrees.
A student who has previously earned a bachelor’s degree from Ensign College or another regionally accredited institution is eligible to pursue a second Bachelor’s of Applied Science degree in a different discipline provided the declared program of study is not the same as the previously awarded degree.
Transfer Applicants
Official transcripts from previously attended colleges and universities must be received before transfer credit can be evaluated and applied to a student’s Ensign College program.
Visiting Students
An applicant who wishes to enroll at Ensign College with no intention to pursue and/or complete a degree is considered a visiting student, or non-degree seeking. A visiting student must apply and meet all admission requirements. Visiting students do not qualify for Federal or institutional financial aid or scholarships.
International students on an F-1 visa will not be permitted to apply as visiting students.
Dual Enrollment
Eligible high school students can dual enroll in courses at Ensign College and receive college credit.
Eligibility Requirements
Ensign College retains sole responsibility and control over the decision of whether a student meets the requirements necessary to register for Ensign College courses.
The following requirements must be met for a student to be eligible for dual enrollment:
- Complete 10th grade of high school or its equivalent
- Show evidence of current enrollment in a high school or equivalent
- Obtain and maintain an ecclesiastical endorsement
- Commit to and abide by the Church Educational System Honor Code and Church Educational System Dress and Grooming Principles and Expectations , and other Ensign College policies and procedures
- Meet all course prerequisites (if any)
If the college has a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with a high school, any exceptions to these eligibility requirements must be agreed to in writing by Ensign College and the high school.
Enrollment Process
To begin the enrollment process, a parent/legal guardian or school official completes the Dual Enrollment Registration Form on behalf of the student and confirms that the student is academically, socially, and emotionally prepared and capable of succeeding in a college environment. If the form is completed by a school official, the school confirms the consent of the parent.
If Ensign College has an MOU with the student’s high school, the high school official must submit the Dual Enrollment Registration Form.
A dual enrollment student is encouraged to meet with his or her high school counselor prior to registering for Ensign College dual enrollment to ensure classes fulfill high school graduation requirements and are not repeats or redundant to a prior course.
Dual enrollment students may enroll in up to nine credit hours per block.
Transcript
Ensign College transcripts will show courses taken and grades earned as part of the student’s permanent academic record.
Dual Enrollment Credit Transferability
Other institutions of higher education that a student may subsequently attend make their own decisions about their acceptance of dual enrollment course credits. It is the student’s responsibility to check with the receiving institution on the transferability of dual enrollment credits. Ensign College makes no guarantee how credits will transfer to another institution.
Financial Aid and Scholarships, Employment, and Housing
Federal financial aid and institutional scholarships are not available to dual enrollment students. Ensign College student employment and preferred student housing are not available to dual enrollment students.
Reporting Requirements
As a responsible employee under the Sexual Harassment Policy, faculty and staff should be trained on and aware of reporting requirements related to sexual harassment and mandatory notification requirements of abuse or neglect of minors under Utah law.
